Conclusion

Finished our first week of school and enjoyed learning and reviewing everything.  We are off to a wonderful start of our new school year, give God all the praise for this blessing.  Especially during these times of uncertainties, makes me very grateful to be able to homeschool my kids.  Won't take this opportunity for granted.  Unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.

Larry Boy likes to think he is in charge of teaching the kids.

GOD BLESS!

MFW:  Exploration to 1850 Curriculum Organization

Can't believe how fast this year came about, it seems like each day is going faster and faster.  This year we will have a sixth and second grader, wow I'm not sure if I'm ready for this.  I love teaching them but can't believe we have a middle schooler, I wasn't ready for this.  This year's curriculum is going to be combined with Adventures in U.S. History which actually go great together.  Been really busy getting things organized and ready for our new school year.  The kids have actually been asking to start school again, I love seeing them excited about school.  Our school room is in the basement, which works great for us.  Everything in one location and in its place.  We have been using My Father's World since the very beginning (Kindergarten to now), we love how hands on everything is and the best part it's Bible focused.

Our Curriculums

Combining Exploration to 1850 and Adventures in U.S. History, organized all the student sheets by week to make it easier to find.

For Language Arts we will be using Spelling by Sound and Structure and Language Lesson for 2nd grade.  Will be using Spectrum Spelling and Language Arts for 6th grade.  We will be using Primary Mathematics for both 2nd and 6th.

Been using this same timeline since the beginning, the accordine method.  We don't have the same to hang the timeline on the wall so instead we use a book type .  Found the prints on Pinterest on Tasha Wiginton blog, printed about 8 pages for each grade.  Colored in the pictures for the timeline and then laminated each page so that it could be more durable.

Here are all of out history books for the year.  We will be adding more from library but these are the main ones we will be using.

These are for our bible lessons and devotions.

Some of our amazing read alouds, always look forward to reading these with the kids.

We will continue using God & the History of Art I and II for 6th grade and use I can do all things for 2nd grade.

Each one will have their own flashcards of Bird and Flower to go with their lessons this year.

Look of our School Room on one side and the Game Room on the other.  Love this space for the family.

Have a rainbow theme going on in our school room.  Everything has a place and easy to find when we need it.

More pictures of our school room, need more bookshelves to put all of our books.

In our brown bookshelf we have all our of our curriculum books.

Have a felt United States Map that we will use lots this year (found this map several years ago at Target), and another map of the world with different animals on it (which we found at Dollar Tree).

Praying for God's grace and blessing in our new school year.  As we finish our lessons each week I will be adding a link for each week below.  To show our progress and what we have learned in our studies.   Unto our new adventures of a new school year.

GOD BLESS!
