MFW: CtG and Gods Creation Week 5

MFW: Creation to the Greek and God's Creation from A to Z Week 5

This week we will learn about the countries surrounding Egypt, mummies, all things pyramids, and finish memorizing the books of the Old Testament.  D will work on the letter Aa, number 4, review his shapes and colors.  He will learn all about apples, identify the parts of an apple, and work on lots of science experiments.

D has memorized all of his memory verse so far and loves sharing them with everyone he talks to.

Memorizing the last few chapters of the Old Testament.



Learning the greek word of the week "tele", means far away and distant.


Working on her greek words and learning about changing y to ies or adding a (s) at the end.


Spelling words and reading a poem and observing a painting.


Handwriting practice and lots of reading.


Learning the letter Aa.


Handwriting practice in the sand.


More letter A fun.


Reviewing letter S, M, L, and A with his picture cards.  He was laughing so much when he realized the back of the picture had the answers.

Added Pyramids in Egypt 2500 B.C. to our timeline this week.

HISTORY


Brought out our Egypt materials from last year, afterwards K wrote her name using hieroglyphics.


Studied more on mummies.


Observed our Egypt figurines.

After learning about pyramids we built one out of our foam cubes instead of sugar cubes.



K was so happy with her pyramid, we also made ones from the pyramid worksheet.


Since we've been studying a lot about mummies we decided to make our version of eatable mummies (pig in the blanket).

Lesson 8: Thick and Thin Lines and Wavy Lines


After reading the book "Ten Apples Up on Top!", the kids used their thumbprints to place the apples on top of the lion and tiger.


While listening to Vivaldi's Spring K colored her version of spring.
