MFW:  1850 to MT and ECC Week 19

One week before Christmas, kids are excited especially since their dad will be home.  Such a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  This week we will learn more on the Mexican Revolution, World War I, the Russian Revolution, Arizona, and Woodrow Wilson.  Also read more on Africa, Kal-Tamashaq, Samuel Morris, grasslands, plant eaters, meat eaters, survival on the grasslands, hydropower, wind energy, biofuels, solar energy, geothermal energy, and hydrogen.

BOOKS

BIBLE





LANGUAGE ARTS 

Reading, writing, spelling, composing poems, studying the book of John, and lots of sentence building.






MATH

Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction, decimals, conversations, skip counting, and word problems.

HISTORY

Studied the revolution in the Americas, War in the world, the Mexican Revolution, Kal-Tamashaq, Africa, Kenya, the great war, war in Europe, draft, President Taft, the U.S. Army enlistment, Arizona, Woodrow Wilson, World War I, and the Russian Revolution. 








SCIENCE

Read more on the grasslands, plant eaters, meat eaters, survival on the grasslands, hydropower, wind energy, biofuels, solar energy, geothermal energy, and hydrogen.




ART


Coloring their Christmas tree and book markers.


Lesson #226: Journaling out of doors 


Made a guinea pig for his animal abstract art. 


He made a Meerkat to go with our grassland studies.

MUSIC/VIDEO


Listened to George Gershwin "Rhapsody in Blue" and Wee Sing "Bebe Moke".

FIELD TRIP

Finally got some snow that suck, kids went outside and played for awhile in it till it started to rain.  It was fun while it lasted.





CONCLUSION

 MFW:  1850 to MT and ECC Week 18

This week we will learn about Kenya, Riffi Berbers, Mary Slessor, Africa, grasslands, plants, animals, and David Livingstone.  Also read about Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria, the Balkan Wars Adulhamid the Red, William Howard, New Mexico, van Gogh, and all about energy.

Read about New Mexico, William Taft, the sick man of Europe, Mary Slessor, Riffi Berbers, Africa, Kenya, the Balkan Mess, revolution in the Americas war in the world, and the Mexican Revolution.











SCIENCE

Discussed everything about the grasslands: animals, plants, and biomes.  Also read about countless coal, nature's natural gas, creation confirmation, nuclear energy, and renewable energy.




ART


Attended a painting class and learned about picture perspective, they did an amazing job with their painting, and can't wait for the next class.

Listened to Wee Sing: Tue Tue and some Sousa to Satchmo.

Also watched Disney the Lion King to go with our studies of Africa and the grasslands.

FIELD TRIP

K got her braces off after a year and half of having them on, she was suppose to get them off after two and half years.  But like the day she was born everything has happened pretty fast.  She has such a beautiful smile and now is more confident then ever.  Blessed to have such an amazing team of people that has worked with her and will continue to work with her in this process, it has been a wonderful experience.  


CONCLUSION

Read about New Mexico, William Taft, the sick man of Europe, Mary Slessor, Riffi Berbers, Africa, Kenya, the Balkan Mess, revolution in the Americas war in the world, and the Mexican Revolution.  Discussed everything about the grasslands: animals, plants, and biomes.  Also read about countless coal, nature's natural gas, creation confirmation, nuclear energy, and renewable energy.  K finished the week with getting her braces off, an exciting moment for her, this process has helped not only her teeth but her confidence.  We've been blessed with an amazing team and doctor and a great experience.  Not unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
