  MFW: 1850 TO MT AND ECC WEEK 10

This week we will learn about Yanomamo, South America, the Amazon, and the Amazon River, monkeys and apes, climbing and gliding, the rain forest floor, Nate Saint, and discuss the empires, republics, and a kingdom.  Will also read about France, the Second Reich, Germany, Transcontinental Railroad, time zones, Thomas Edison, and grow crystals.  

BOOKS

BIBLE 

Memory Verse: You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Lots of reading, writing, definitions, learning about opposites, and composing poems.

HISTORY 

Read about the five finger prayer, two empires, three republics, one kingdom, dining on the transcontinental railroad, Brazil, the Second Reich, rails, zones, bulbs, Colorado, and Rutherford B. Hayes.





SCIENCE 

Discussed Jerusalem tunnels, Hissarlik, the Amazon, monkey and apes, chemical chaos, chemical or physical reactions, reactants releasing and retaining, and how to make crystals.











ART

MUSIC/VIDEO 

Listened to Wee Song: #11 Mi Chacra and the Stories of Foster and Sousa #17-23.

FIELD TRIP 

Kids enjoyed their cooking class:  All About Apples, Home Depot Kids Workshop: Football Goal, and STEAM class: Human Anatomy, a very fun week full of activities.  











CONCLUSION 

This week we learned about Yanomamo, South America, the Amazon, and the Amazon River, monkeys and apes, climbing and gliding, the rain forest floor, Nate Saint, and discuss the empires, republics, and a kingdom.  Also read about France, the Second Reich, Germany, Transcontinental Railroad, time zones, Thomas Edison, and grow crystals.  Finished most of our biomes the next one will be a farm.  Enjoyed several activities this week between cooking class, kids workshop, and STEAM class.  Now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
