Toddler Preschool: Mixing (Letter Uu, #21, Purple, Square)

TODDLER PRESCHOOL: MIXING (LETTER Uu, #21, PURPLE, SQUARE)

This week we will focus on learning the letter Uu, the number 21, the color purple, and the square shape.  Will learn about how things react when mixed in water right along with his sister.

He saw me cooking and said he wanted to cook too.  I placed several cookie cutters out some cooking utensils and pots for him to play with while I cooked.

SCIENCE



Mixing household items with water to see what happens



They enjoyed seeing how things react with water, the changes that occur, and feeling the water to see that also changes.



Very impressed to see that the oil doesn't sink in water.

FIELD TRIP 



Didn't do much this week but the kids really enjoyed themselves in the pile of leaves.

END OF THE WEEK 



Toward the end of the week little man wasn't feeling too good, by Friday I had to take him to the doctors for them to tell me (what I already knew) that he had croup.  He has been champ with all the breathing treatments and taking his meds.  



Starting to feel a little better today (Sunday), hopefully he feels 100% better very soon.  

This week little man started off great and as the days went on he started getting sick.  Through it all you could never tell he was getting sick because he was still his happy self.  He still wanted to do some school, even though I didn't push him into it, he learned the letter Uu, the number 21, the color purple, and the square shape.  We also learned about how things reacted when mixed in water.

This week we will learn about Ruth & Naomi, Samson, and King Saul. We will also learn about the sound tch, dge, and nk.  The book of the bibles we will discuss are Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and 1 Thessalonians.

BOOKS OF THE BIBLE 



Ephesians emphasizes that Christians should see themselves as one large church whom Jesus Christ has saved; it also describes how to live the Christian life.



Philippians is a happy thank-you letter, written to Christians in Philippi.  


Colossians describes Jesus Christ as the eternal Son of God, who saves us completely from sin and the power of Satan; it also tells us how to live the Christian life.  



First Thessalonians reminds the Christians in Thessalonica of some important things Paul had taught them; he also assures them that he really loves them.

TIMELINE 



This week we added Ruth and Naomi, Samson, King Saul to our timeline.

BIBLE HISTORY 



Made a Shepherd's Bag using a lunch bag and some yarn.  The kids enjoyed pretending to carry their lunches and bottle water around the house.  They continued to play with their bags even after we finished our lesson.

FIELD TRIP 



Finally got some wonderful weather, good enough for the kids to enjoy themselves for a little bit outside.  Raked a pile of leaves together for them to have fun jumping in.

END OF THE WEEK 



Due to both kids not feeling well we pulled out our queen size mattress to have a camp out in the living room.  The kids loved the idea and quickly laid down and got comfortable. 

This week we learned about Ruth & Naomi, Samson, and King Saul. We also learned about the sound of tch, dge, and nk.  Some of the books in the bible we discussed are Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and 1 Thessalonians.  Had lots of fun experimenting with different mixtures with water.

END OF THE WEEK 



Went to Open Arms Retirement Home to visit on Veterans day, the kids enjoyed arts and crafts and games with the residents.



Took the kids to Kidtopia, the kids had lots of fun their playing different games, meeting different Super Heroes and Disney characters.

This week we learned about the letter Tt, number 20, the color green, and the circle shape.  Will also learned about clouds and do different experiments to show how clouds work. We had a lot of activities going this week, its been a very fun week.
