MFW: ECC and K4 Week 5

MFW: ECC & K4 WEEK 5

This week we will begin our studies on Mexico, continue with multiplication and division, forest, North America, the letter Nn, number 5, pentagon, introduction to turtles and the desert.

Learning about autobiography and biography.  Asked her a few questions about her so she could see what might be in a autobiography.



K reading to D about the letter Nn.



D will learn about the letter Nn, number 5, and the pentagon shape this week.

ARTS & CRAFT



Worked on Tin Plate and Yarn Art this week.




Tin Plate Art, this was a really fun project.



Yarn Art fun, she made a unicorn/dash animal.



Tissue Paper Flowers.



Used tissue paper to complete the Mexican flag.

GEOGRAPHY



Excited to be traveling to Mexico this week.



Added Mexico stickers to their passports and looked over all the surprises that Mexico sent us.



Colored in her Mexico worksheet while I read about Mexico.



Information on Mexico.



Kids were excited to observe a few coins we had saved from when their dad and I went to Cancun Mexico for our Honeymoon.



Placed Mexico boy on the map.



Colored in Mexico on her map.



Observing and reading about the desert.



Started playing the Geography game which was a lot more fun than we expected.



K cooked some meat and shredded the cheese for our tacos, it was so good.

SCIENCE



K's desert diorama.



Filling in her desert worksheet and then observing desert pictures.



Learned about temperatures in the shade and underground and more on turtles.

NATURE WALK 

Went for our usual walk/run around the neighborhood.


VIDEOS



Watched the cute movie COCO to go with our Mexico theme of the week.
Listened to "Pin Pon" and "Tingalayo" on YouTube.


FIELD TRIP




Great way to end the soccer season for K with a win and it was their grandmother's birthday.



Not really a field trip but love how helpful and willing the kids are to help with chores around the house.



After we were done with school work he wanted to play pretend school so he put on his backpack and hat to go to school.

This week we started learning about Mexico and all the exciting facts about it, worked more on multiplication and division, learned about the desert, temperature changes, and different types of art that come from Mexico.  Also worked on the letter Nn, number 5, and pentagon shape.  Now unto next week to see what's in store for us.
