MFW: ECC & K4 WEEK 27
This week we will start our studies on Japan, learn about it cultures, people, and beliefs. Will study more on the ocean and the life that lives in it. Little man will begin his studies on the letter Ff, and join us on our fun adventures learning about Japan.

LANGUAGE ARTS
Spelling and handwriting practice.
Spelling words practice
Reading one of the many books she has picked for the week.
Working on the letter Ff this week.
Handwriting practice in the sand.
Handwriting and letter recognition of his name.
Lots of multiplication and division practice with a touch of fractions.
Cutting practice, color review, and putting the numbers in order.
ARTS & CRAFT
Karensansui Mini-Gardens, we used Kinetic sand which the kids enjoyed making waves in the sand.
Made snowflakes in her Seasonal Art class.
Cherry Blossom painting
K learned about the First Thanksgiving in her Native American class and they made these cute bracelets as a reminder of the story.
Colored in our Japanese Carp Fish and then hung them on the wall.
Got some crayola origami kit (dog and cat) from Chick-fil-A several days ago and decide to save them until now.
GEOGRAPHY
Traveled to Japan today
Started our studies on Japan
Adding their plane tickets and stickers in their travel books.

We reviewed the 7 continents, the oceans, and the many countries we have studied.
Japanese doll we got from a friend in Japan and a little topper game the kids really loved playing.

SCIENCE
Learning about ocean animals
Little man learned about sharks in his Sea Life class at our co-op.
Learning about the shoreline and the animals and plants that live there.
Working together to find all the sea life in the book.
Making crystals with a kit he got for Christmas.
Digging for rocks and gems from a kit she got for Christmas.
Cold Water Demonstration: kids thought it was neat to feel the water cold on the bottom and warm on top.
Little man enjoying jumping off a small wall and seeing how high he could jump.
Went to story time and the theme was on Chickens, the kids loved the dancing "The Chicken Dance" and all the stories that were read.

Went to the Raeford-Hoke Museum with the family to learn the history of Raeford N.C. and many other history from around the world.

This week we started our studies on Japan learning about the culture, the people, and beliefs. We've enjoyed many crafts that is done in Japan. Got a chance to go with the family to a museum near our town and explore all the wonderful history it had. Learned a lot about the ocean and the many different things that live in or near the ocean. Little man worked on the letter Ff, numbers and shape recognition, and reviewing his colors. It's been a great week of learning and now unto next week to continue our studies on Japan.
