Giant Pandas are used as the emblem of China, they are also known as a national treasure in China. Kids enjoyed painting their pictures with plastic forks to look like fur.

Made different types of Christmas decorations including puppets at one of our co-ops.
Completed their "Keep Christ in Christmas" ornaments for our wall decor.
GEOGRAPHY
On our way to China
Added China to our map.
Added their plane tickets to their album.
Colored in their China worksheets
Made Chinese puppets and lanterns.
Opened our Singapore packet, great learning about another culture.
Learning about Great Wall of China
Built a small model of the Great Wall of China for the kids to get an idea of how it looks like. Got this idea from Paper Toys website.
After learning about the Great Wall of China the kids colored in their worksheets, got the worksheet from Education.com.
Geography game
Added China to their world map.
Opened up our packet from China and loved the keychains they sent us. Great addition to our learning.
Added stickers to their passports.
Kids were excited that daddy came home with some Chinese food to finish our week on China.
SCIENCE
Under Sea observation in their animal search book.
Since the kids have been wanting snow so bad we made some of our own using 2 cups of conditioner and 1 cup of baking soda.
We doubled the recipe so the kids could have more snow to play with. It was soft and cold to the touch.
Candy cane experiment: got 4 small bowls and filled them with different ingredients (Sprite, vinegar, water, and salt water), and placed one candy cane in each bowl. The kids each did a hypothesis of which one would melt the candy cane fastest and then waited patiently to see which one was right. D was correct and saying salt water would melt the candy cane the fastest.
Milk experiment: used red and green food coloring (colors of Christmas).
They came out so pretty, like always.
NATURE WALK
For our nature walk this week we went to Hawk Manor Falconry with our co-op group. Always a very fun trip to learn all about the birds of prey.
Kids were excited to be able to pet Annabelle the beautiful barn owl.
Got to pet goats and observe several other animals while on our field trip.
Watched Mulan and Kung Fu Panda, just a few of our favorites.
