MFW: 1850 TO MT AND ECC WEEK 12

This week we will learn about Norway, Northern Europe, northern evergreen forests, winter in northern forests, trees, James Garfield, the war of the Pacific in South America, Egypt, the Suez Canal, bushrangers: Australia, and the iron outlaw.  Also will discuss slime modes in STEAM class, colloids, separating mixtures, diluted versus concentrated, lots of experiments.

Discussed winter n the northern forests, northern evergreen forests, acid rain, acid snow, threatened animals, colloids, separating mixtures, diluted versus concentrated, and filtration.

FIELD TRIP 

K was able to attend a workshop for students in middle and high school at a local University.  Made us happy to hear all about her class and how she really enjoyed it after we picked her up.  She looking forward to her next class.  


Kids went to cooking class this week and learned how to make pumpkin muffins, well this time D decided he wanted to play outside during the class with his friend, which was fine by me.  





CONCLUSION

It has been a pretty busy week with lots of activities and learning but we had fun.  Not unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.

Also learn about Commodore Perry in Japan, Japan's Meiji, the Dutch East Indies, Krakatoa, Charles Spurgeon, multitude of mixtures, heterogeneous mixtures, suspensions and emulsions, homogeneous mixtures, alloys, salute the solute, polar bonds in water, and soapy solutions.

Watched Rio 1 & 2 to go with our final lesson of Brazil.


FIELD TRIP 

Went to the National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. for National Fossil Day.









CONCLUSION 

This week we finished our lesson on Brazil, continued Nate Saint reading, learned more on the rain forest, farming, industry, water birds, and the colors in the rain forest. Also learned about Commodore Perry in Japan, Japan's Meiji, the Dutch East Indies, Krakatoa, Charles Spurgeon, multitude of mixtures, heterogeneous mixtures, suspensions and emulsions, homogeneous mixtures, alloys, salute the solute, polar bonds in water, and soapy solutions.  Finished the week with K going to a Father Daughter Dance, which she really loved, she loves having that one-on-one time with her daughter whenever she can, he works a lot so she cherishes every minute.   Been a very fun week filled with lot of learning, now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
