MFW: Exploration to 1850 and Adventures in U.S. History Week 4
This week we will continue discussing Jesus the light of the world, Henry Hudson, the Dutch settlement, strangers and saints in Plymouth, the thirteen colonies, Miles Standish, the pilgrims, and the Mayflower Compact. Also will learn about monkeys, apes, aquatic mammals, the Baroque Period, Schubert, Ruben, David and Goliath, and all about different indians and the way they live.

We made a little lighthouse instead of the candle that was suggested in the teacher's manual.
Added the light to our names of Jesus board.
Language Arts
This week we worked on reviewing their spelling words and doing a lot more reading, handwriting practice, pronouns, nouns, adjectives, and memorization.
Math
Counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This week there was a lot of review work which helped the kids remember what they've learned last year. K has been using the calculator to double check her work and she gets so excited when her answers match the calculator's and answer book.
Timeline
History
Read about the first settlers, different types of indians, Henry Hudson, going their separate ways, pilgrims, Native America Pictographs, made tepees and wigwag, Dutch settlement, strangers and saints in Plymouth, 13 colonies, Miles Standish, and played a game of Twig Toss.
Science
Read all about mammals, monkeys & apes, aquatic mammals, and watched a live video on Varsity Tutor about misunderstood monsters (animals). Also read all about the sun and gravity and did several experiments to help us better understand the subject.

Art
Kids did another class with Varsity Tutors but this time with learning how to draw Boss Baby, also worked on lines and shadowing, learned about the Baroque Period, Rubens, and the picture of David & Goliath.
Music/Video
Watched a short video on dolphins on Brain Pop.
#2 Symphony no. 8 in B minor, "Unfinished".
Field trip
Found this great game to add to our collection of board games "Monopoly Animal Crossing", we have all enjoyed playing Animal Crossing on our Nintendo Switch.
Ended the week and enjoyed some family time at the park, we are determine to go explore the different parks around our area.
