MFW: Exploration to 1850 and Adventures in U.S. History Week 2
This week we will learn about Charles V, Spanish Conquistadors, William the Silent, Mary Queen of Scots, Sir Walter Raleigh, the Dutch Revolt, and the early settlers in the Americas. Also discuss the many names of Jesus, classification system, vertebrates, Christopher Columbus, sailing ships, doing experiments on air, creation, and lots of reading and math.

Language Arts
Kids did a lot of reading this week, work on spelling words, handwriting practice, pronouns, and poems.
Math
Did more review work on addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and more conversation units.
Timeline
History
Read on the world of Empires, the Holy Roman Empire, the power of the Habsburg, early settlers in the Americas, the rise of the Dutch, Elizabeth Queen of England, the riches of Spain, the Dutch Revolt, the queen without a county, and Sir Walter Raleigh.
Science
Learning about the world of Animals mouse, moose, vertebrates, humans being compared to animals, extreme habitats, animal teeth, animal bones, and learn all about air through experiments.
Art
D worked on drawing human figures and K worked on shadow drawing.
Music/Video
Watched a mini clip on Queen Elizabeth on our Brain Pop App.
Field trip
Grandparents (my in-laws) came to visit so we decided to go to Hershey Park and then enjoy some fireworks at home, they came right before July 4th. We even got to celebrate Rocky's 4th birthday while they were here visiting. It was a great week spending time with them and getting the chance to spend time together. We really miss living close to family.
Conclusion
This week we will learn about Charles V, Spanish Conquistadors, William the Silent, Mary Queen of Scots, Sir Walter Raleigh, the Dutch Revolt, and the early settlers in the Americas. Also discuss the many names of Jesus, classification system, vertebrates, Christopher Columbus, sailing ships, doing experiments on air, creation, and lots of reading and math. Ended the week with a visit from my in-laws, great way to end the 2nd week of school. Unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
