MFW: LEARNING GOD'S STORY WEEK 29

This week we will learn about Synagogue School, when Jesus was a boy, Jesus being baptized, fisherman, and healing of a man on the mat. Also learn about telling time, seeds starting to grow, and weaving.

BIBLE HISTORY



Talked about the synagogue schools and how in the time of Jesus the Jewish kids would go to school.  You would go to a synagogue school, it's what they called their church.  On the first day of school, the teacher would place before them a bowl of honey.  Honey was something they didn't get everyday only on special occasions.  First day of school was consider a special day.  



Made a woven paper mat out of construction paper to demonstrate how people weave mats to sleep on.  



Didn't get a chance to make a circular braided mat but we used one of the mats in the playroom to show how it was made.

WORKSHEETS

There was only one worksheet this week, page 127.  We read the worksheet together explained to her about singular and plural words. Didn't get a picture of her working on the worksheet.

Reviewed the life cycle of a bean using our Safariology Bean life cycle.



Looked through our seed book and then placed two beans in two separate plastic bags with two cotton balls soaked in water.

END OF THE WEEK 



This week was United States Day at our co-op, Kanani wanted to do her presentation on Hawaii since her name is Hawaiian.

Toddler Preschool: Seeds (Yy, #25, Yellow, Hexagon)

TODDLER PRESCHOOL: SEEDS (Yy, #25, YELLOW, HEXAGON)

This week we will learn the letter Yy, number 25, and hexagon shape. Also discuss the life cycle of a bean and observe different types of seeds.

He loved stacking the hexagon shapes from biggest to smallest, and saying number 25.
ACTIVITIES




Made our own little green house out of two cotton balls soaked in water with a red bean in the middle.  It has been lots of fun watching the seed grow.  


He wanted to be a baker while I was trying to teach his sister.  Of course we ended up having to stop and enjoy our cookies from the world's cutest baker.

TODDLER PRESCHOOL: FROZEN WATER (Xx, #24, WHITE, CUBE)

This week we will learn the letter Xx, number 24, color white, and the cube shape.  We will learn how water freezes and an introduction to fractions.

ACTIVITIES



Talked about the birth of Jesus and then the kids colored their envelopes and glued their pictures


Kids observed some ice cubes and then watched it melt on plates and see how it would react in water.



Gave them some salt for them to place on the ice cubes to see how the salt would melt the ice cubes.



Froze some water in a bowl and placed it in the freezer overnight, the next day we brought the bowl out and saw how the water froze over the bowl to which the lid couldn't close on it.  It was a fun experiment for the kids to see and play with the ice.



At the co-op little man enjoyed playing with stamps, color matching, and then came home to enjoy some puzzles.



Part of his sister's curriculum we study the sounds of Peter the Wolf, here the kids are acting like a donkey and a tortoise.  
FIELD TRIP 



Went on our daily trip to the library for our story and craft time



It was lego day at the library which made the kids very happy 
END OF THE WEEK 




This week we got a dust of snow which made the kids happy and sad, happy because they got to enjoy seeing the snow fall and sad because it wasn't enough for them to really do much with.  


After the snow left the kids enjoyed the very warm weather we got, according to them golf is a dangerous sport so they needed to wear their goggles.
This week we learned the letter Xx, number 24, color white, and the cube shape.  We also learned how water freezes and an introduction to fractions.
