Identifying letter Ss

MATH, COLOR, SHAPE

I had taken out 19 cubes for him to play with but he got a hold of the box and mixed all of them together.  At least he was having fun taking them apart and putting them back together.

Observing the cylinder shape and the number 19

ARTS & CRAFTS

After reading about the ten commandments I painted their hands and put them on some paper and then they glued the laws on the tips of the fingers.

After painting their hands he wanted to paint some more.  I gave him some paper but apparently his body was a better canvas.

ACTIVITIES

After talking about the twelve spies that went into the promise land I hid some grapes for the kids to search for.  They really enjoyed searching for the grapes and then pretending to be carrying them out of the promise land.

We did several water experiments to demonstrate water's skin.  For this experiment "Bulging Glass" filled the container to the brim and then the kids would slide some coins one at a time to watch how the water would overflow.

Drip and Drops Experiment: they would try catching some drops on their fingers to then gently roll it between their finger and thumb.

Flattening drops Experiment: take a spoon and make several drops on the tray, then dip the tip of a straw in some dishwashing liquid.  The dishwashing liquid would make the skin stretch so the drops spread out.

Blowing bubbles Experiment

Whenever we do anything with water the kids always want to do a wash station.

Filled a bucket up with water and left it outside for a week to see what animals and things would be in the water.

We had some cheerios go stale so we decided to make bird feeders using pipe cleaners.

Working with big sister on her music cards (Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra)

Enjoying the park at one of our local schools while his sister gets ready for her last soccer practice of the season.

FIELD TRIP

Went to Hawk Manor Falconry for our field trip with our co-op group

Some of the beautiful hawks on the manor

Excited to pet the chicken

Very happy that my parents were able to join us on our field trip

He kept talking to the stuffed squirrel and petting it

One of their favorite thing was getting to pet the barn owl

My dad's little buddy, he loves his abuelo.

END OF THE WEEK

Little man's sister had her first Zoo Club class on Animal Architecture which he got to enjoy.

Some pictures of animal homes

Getting a closer look at some animal homes and bones

Petting a 15 lb bunny

He found two nuts in the grass and was so excited to show them to me, even though he kept calling them eggs.

This week we learned the letter Ss, number 19, the color pink, and the cylinder shape.  Worked on many different experiments to learn about "Water's skin".  We had lots of fun this week and can't wait to see what next week has in store for us.

GOD BLESS!
