MFW:  RtR (5th Grade) and AHL (9th Grade) Week 19

This week we will learn about Elisha, becoming best friends with God, developing your friendship with God, worship that pleases God, when God seems distant, and formed for God's family.  Also read about vikings, Alfred the Great, the Battle of Hastings, vikings raid England, Norman, Kings, Nobles, peasants, and feudalism.

Kids read a lot, worked on spelling, handwriting practice, poems, Greek, and Spanish.

Worked on addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, and skip counting.

Read about Jesus and the Pharisees, Alfred the Great, Anselm, the Battle of Hastings, England after the conquest, Serfs, Noblemen, fighting the Danes, Anglo-Saxons, the Norman conquests, England, Sicily, and Italy.  Also read about Vikings, feudalism, a warlike society, becoming best friends with God worship that pleases God, developing your friendship with God, when God seems distant, Elijah is taken in a whirlwind, Naaman is healed, Elisha raises the Shunammite boy, Jehu overtrhrows Jezebel and destroys Baal.

This week we will learn about Jonah, Amos, Assyria, Israel exiled, Akhenaten and Nefertiti the beautiful, King Tutankhamen, New Dynasty, and getting closer to God.  Also will read castles, knights, medieval church, monks, the pope, building a cathedral, monks, monasteries, hormones, and how our body changes.

Learned about tears for Jerusalem, stone castles, knights, samurai, the English code of chivalry, living in a castle, falconry, tournaments, hunting, pastimes, feasting, and training of a knight.  Also read about heraldry, the medieval knight, the knighting ceremony, the role of women, new worlds, native North America the Egyptian empire, the first North Americans, the Greeks at War, and the end of the Egyptian empire.

Read about classification, hormones, genes, what are genes, classification of bacteria, immune system, proteobacteria gram-negative bacteria, nonproteobacteria gram-negative bacteria, and bacteria.  Learned about babies, making a baby, womb, growing and moving being born, growing and changing learning and doing, becoming an adult, getting old, and Monohybrids.
