MFW: Creation to the Greek Curriculum Organization

MFW: CTG CURRICULUM ORGANIZATION

We are excited to be starting our next journey in My Father's World with Creations to the Greek and will also be doing Kindergarten God's Creation from A to Z.  Here are a few pictures showing the way we have our school organized.  I have reduced the amount of things we had from when we first started our homeschooling journey, more like decluttering our lives.  It was starting to overwhelm me having so many items especially the ones never being used.  Very refreshing, a bit of fresh air.  Makes teaching so much more fun when everything is organized and in its place.

BOOKS

Bought the Deluxe Package of Creations to Greek.

Using Language Lessons for Today Grade 4 and Spelling with Sound and Structure 4.

Singapore workbook and textbook 4A & 4B

Here is our Kindergarten Curriculum, which we bought the deluxe back in 2015.  Glad we bought two sets of student sheets at the time as a back-up, which is what we are using for D now. To see how we did Kindergarten the first around click on the link below.  We'll probably do the curriculum the same way this time around with little change.

ORGANIZING CURRICULUM

Several items I've used for organizing since the beginning of our homeschool journey.  Laminator and sheets, page protector sheets and sticky flags I bought from Wal-Mart.

Placed the students in a 3 ring binder and divided each week into page protectors with divider tabs.  Also included the Art sheets and placed the art card into pencil holder.

Colored in and laminated the timeline pictures, then printed the scroll worksheets I got from Tasha Wiginton blog.  Also laminated the scroll worksheets and taped them to look more like an accordian book, since we don't have the wall space to put the timeline up.  Behind each picture for the timeline I wrote the week it corresponds with and then placed a velcro dot on it since that's how we will place it on the timeline.  Used this same method for 1st and 2nd grade timeline.

D's Cuisneaire Book, I took the book apart and put each page in page protectors.  It worked great when we did this with K.

Placed the memory verses and badges in pencil pouches, and made little puppets out of foam using the badges.  K loved these when she went through Kindergarten, hope D will love it just as much.

Alphabet cards and game cards stored in pencil pouches.

Printed out a picture of each composer and made a little flip book to go with the CD back with K.

EXTRA ITEMS

Found this wonderful gem at our local thrift store.  Talk about a treasure.  It show the layers of how they would mummify bodies back then.  Kids love taking this out and observing the layers of a mummy.

Bought this Ancient Egypt items from Michael's since I had  50% off coupon.  Kids have played with these a lot and am happy we will use it this year in our studies.

Went to Washington D.C. with the family and in one of the gift shops they had this wonderful book half off.  Couldn't pass up on the offer.

Another great find at a thrift store, a small toy that has the alphabet on one side and hieroglyphics  on the other side whenever you turn the knob underneath.

OUR SCHOOL AREA (DINING ROOM)

Most of our curriculum books are on this shelf.

Shelves hold our curriculum's and some materials we use for school.

Top pictures is where all our school, art, and office materials are held.  Bottom left picture is our library, and bottom right is where turtles tank, and under it is where all our game boards are.  Above the turtle tanks is our calendar, weekly work file holder, memory verse cards, bible names, alphabet, and attendance chart.

PETS (OUR KIDS)

Several of our pets more like our kids or like the kids like to call them "School Pets".  Top left to top right: Coco (Cocktail), Zeus (mixed puppy), and Larry Boy (Bearded Dragon).  Bottom left to bottom right: Hulk & Yoda (Yellow Belly Sliders), 4 Goldfish, and 2 Dwarf frogs.

SCHOOL SYMBOL

Our school name is FOUR SEASON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY.  We decided on this name since we school year round.  Painted K's hand brown (center of the tree) since we started the homeschooling journey with her.  Then all four of us used our thumbprints to finish the painting which represents the flowers or snow of the season.

Very excited to begin our journey in Creation to the Greek and second round of God's creation from A to Z.  Pray we learn lots of new things, for God's guidance and love while we continue on this journey of homeschooling.
