MFW: RTR AND LEARNING GOD'S STORY WEEK 30
This week we will be learning about Jesus calling Matthew, the twelve apostles, calming of the storm, and reviewing the 100 chart and some sight words. Also learn about Cortes and Montezuma, slavery, Renaissance Art, conquering and settling the new world, Portuguese, Africa, East Indies, Brazil, secularism, Italian artists, and Michelangelo.

LANGUAGE ARTS
Proofreading a paragraph (adverbs and adjectives) and some reading practice.
More reading and rewriting the paragraph correctly.
She really enjoys reading the Bible reader and is working on synonyms, and antonyms.
Sight word practice and reading.
He has improved so much in his reading since we started in the beginning of the year.
Gotten to the point where he actually asks to read, he still needs help, but I love being there with him and watching him read and improve each day.
MATH
Multiplication and adding cubes.
Word problems reviews
Lots of review work for the next several weeks.
Matching the correct amount to the cent value.
Counting review: placing the correct amount of leaves that go with the number.
Identifying the shapes and colors and then matching them to the correct slots.
Glued some coins to the popsicle sticks and wrote how much each one is worth, to make it easier for D to be to remember the amount. I actually did this for K when she went through first.
Working on dimes and penny worksheet amount.
TIMELINE
HISTORY
Read about Cortes and Montezuma, conquering and settling the New World, epilogue, the Aztecs, and Portuguese, Africa, the East Indies, and Brazil.
More on the influence of secularism, Anne of Cleves, Renaissance culture in Europe, and importance of the Renaissance.
SCIENCE
This week we will learn about Saturn, ring system, twins, and the rings around it.
Fast rotation, Saturn's Moons, who named Saturn, finding Saturn in the Night Sky, and Cassini Mission.
Made a rocket using alka seltzer tablets, paper towel, water, and soda bottle.
Learned about water waves and used a rope to see the waves first hand.
Planted our beans that we had in mason jars, they actually grew better in the jar that was side ways.
After planting all four beans we forgot to bring them inside, and when we went to get them the next morning the squirrels destroyed 3 out of 4. D was so sad but happy at least one survived.
Studied the life cycle of the kidney bean.
ART

Lesson 154: Drawing the Last Supper
Lesson 155: Keeping an Art Journal and then writing backwards like Leonardo da Vinci.
MUSIC/VIDEOS
#12 Symphony no. 3, "Eroica" (I. Allegro con brio)
Listened to the aquarium and personages with long ears and acted them out while listening to them.
FIELD TRIP/EVENTS
Ran several errands and another vet visit with our puppy (he's 11 years old) and has been pretty sick lately. Praying for healing and more years with him.
These 3 were loving the warm weather.
CONCLUSION
This week we learned about Jesus calling Matthew, the twelve apostles, calming of the storm, and reviewing the 100 chart and some sight words. Also learned about Cortes and Montezuma, slavery, Renaissance Art, conquering and settling the new world, Portuguese, Africa, East Indies, Brazil, secularism, Italian artists, and Michelangelo. Another week down and now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
