TIMELINE
HISTORY
Learned about the Beauty of Constantinople, the Empress Theodora, Justinian, the Just Emperor, and the Church in the East.
Make a woven mat using construction paper.
Byzantine Empire worksheet.
Looked at several pictures of the Mosaics of Hagia Sophia on the internet.
Celebrated the Sabbath and made a Challah bread (for the first time). Gotta say it was a fun process, found a video on YouTube that showed me how to braid it using 6 strands, got the recipe from Barbara Bakes website. I forgot to take a picture of the table set up with the bread in the middle, candles, and grape juice. Everyone loved the bread and requested for me to make more.
SCIENCE
This week D learned about volcanoes, got out our poster the kids put together for a Science Fair on Volcanoes. Went great with this week's lesson.
Made our volcano erupt using baking soda mixed with dish soap and red food coloring, then the kids poured white vinegar on top of the baking soda mix. They always enjoy making volcanoes and always love to play with their dinosaurs.
Liquid Rock can shape the Earth Experiment
Read all about breathing.
Fogger Experiment
D completed his weather chart this week.

The Best of Mozart "#4 Concerto for Piano and Orchestra no. 24 in C Minor"

Didn't go anywhere this week but the kids enjoyed observing the moon and the stars after our daily walks.
Observed the animals that live around our home: saw lots of different birds, squirrels, dogs, cats, deer, and racoons.
