Read about the Development of Christianity and how Christianity spread to the Gentiles.

Made a Roman Scroll invitation and the kids delivered it to their dad (we don't know anyone here since we just moved here) for our celebration next week.

SCIENCE

Finished the bone experiment from last week: pulled the bone out of the vinegar and rinsed it off.  The kids touched it and said it felt gross and then they bent the bone.  They were a little disgusted with how flexible the bone was.

Learned about how our long bones work.

While reading more about the beach D drew his version of the beach, he included a cross to represent Jesus when he died on the cross for our sins.  He said the beach reminded him of God's love and how our lives are at peace.  When we went to the beach we discussed how peaceful and relaxing it was there so he associates the beach with the peace we receive when Christ is the center of our lives.

Went to a new dentist a couple weeks ago, which went perfect for this weeks studies.  D was very nervous to go to a new dentist since his loved his old one (he was with him since he was 2), change is hard for him.

The new dentist gave me a copy of the kids x-rays of their mouth.  I let them know that we would be studying about teeth and were happy to give me a copy for our studies.  K has one last lose tooth and then she will have all her permanent teeth, D has 4 lose teeth at the moment.

After their cleaning the kids got a bag with a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste.  Awhile ago I filled out a form online on the Colgate website about receiving some information on how to better care for our teeth.  They sent us a box with lots of toothbrushes, poster, coloring book, and lots of information about taking care of our teeth.  This kit went perfect with this week's studies.

Read them the story of Dr. Rabbit and observed the poster on how to take care of our teeth.

Learned lots of great ways to take care of our teeth and help keep them healthy and cavity free.

Worked hard on her tooth model and then observed the spinning wheel on how baby tooth fall out when adult tooth come in.

Our Five Senses board is getting full with great information, kids are constantly going back to the board and looking through each model and telling me what they learned of each one.  One of our favorite subjects so far.

This week they both lost a tooth, K lost her last baby tooth, now her mouth is an adult one :(

While doing their work today they decided to wear their vampire teeth.

Weather chart for the week.

ART

Read about Caligula and then observed his portrait from our picture postcard gallery set.  K then said a short description of her thoughts on the piece of artwork, the book said to write a short essay but I had her do a speech instead.  I want to her to feel more comfortable in giving a speech about certain subjects, public speaking practice.

D worked on drawing a bigger picture of the teddy bear from his art book.

Lesson 160: Drawing the Human Skeleton

Drew an umbrella like the one in his book.

MUSIC/VIDEOS

Watched an episode of the "Magic School Bus: Mussel Beach, and Story Bots: Teeth", which went perfect with this week's lessons.

Also watched a clip on our Brain Pop App about teeth.

Watched a video on YouTube about the History of Mozart for kids bedtime stories.

FIELD TRIP/EVENTS

Went back to Greenbrier Park with the family to learn about the beach (closest we can get to the beach for now).

Water attack :)

D searched for rocks and seashells in the water with my dad, he also picked up lots of seaweed and observed what things he could find inside them.

K built a castle with her dad for Elsa and Anna.

K is our little fish out of water, she never wants to leave whenever we go.

D loved jumping off his dad's back, dipping in the water, going underwater pretending to be a fish, and just had the best time in the water.
