MFW: RTR AND LEARNING GOD'S STORY WEEK 15
This week we will learn about the birth of Islam, Muhammad, the Koran, Sinbad, and Baghdad. Will study more about our lungs, our voice, sound effects producing sounds from our mouth, germs, going to the hospital, and the importance of seeing a doctor. D will learn about Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and the importance of listening and following instruction. Learn about the 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah. Study more about the stars and planets, relative size of the planets and distance, make a rocket balloon rocket, and make a bible land map.

Completing sentences and more on changing words to their plural form.
Fragment sentence, parts of a paragraph, and more changing words to their plural form.

Handwriting practice, learning the ow and ou sound, and reviewing the long a and long o sound.
Learning the ai sound, handwriting practice, and drawing a picture for the sentence he read.
MATH
100 Chart, number of the day (57-60), calendar, and weather chart.
Symmetry figures and review work.
More symmetry work, working on finding the angel, and sum of measurements.

HISTORY
Learned about the city of Baghdad, the spread of Islam, and Sinbad.
Islam and the Muslim Empire, and the rise of Islam.
Islamic Empire worksheet
Read more on the fight for Mecca, and the Koran: Islam's Holy Book.
Learned all about 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah.
SCIENCE
Read about our voice, germs, and the importance of seeing a doctor.
Observing how our lungs work by using a soda bottle, balloon, and plastic bag. Kids really liked seeing the balloon inflate and deflate.
After reading about the solar system the kids colored in their planets and made a neat hanging solar system. Got this kit at Target in their dollar spot.
Kids have gone outside several times this week to observe the moon and the stars. They have always been fascinated with the solar system.
Rocket balloon, an activity the kids always love to do this experiment.
Completed our first week of his weather chart.
While we were walking in the neighborhood we noticed how the clouds were formed. It was a great opportunity to discuss the different forms of the clouds and how this one looks like a Stratus cloud.
ART
Drew an apple and snake to go with the bible verse Matthew 6:13, he glued the pieces together after we read about Adam and Eve.
After reading about Cain and Abel he colored in his worksheet and then glued it to a piece of construction paper to place in his notebook.
Observing Art Card 1 Springendes Pferd by Franz Marc while I was reading information on the artist and the painting.
MUSIC/VIDEOS
Listened to "The Best of Mozart Symphony No. 40 in G minor K. 550".
Watched some short clips about our voice and the solar system on our Brain Pop App.
FIELD TRIP/EVENTS
We put our Christmas tree up and the kids did an amazing job in decorating the tree. Love this time of year of celebrating the birth of Jesus.
CONCLUSION
This week we learned about the birth of Islam, Muhammad, the Koran, Sinbad, and Baghdad. Studied more about our lungs, our voice, sound effects producing sounds from our mouth, germs, going to the hospital, and the importance of seeing a doctor. D learned about Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and the importance of listening and following instruction. Learned about the 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah. Worked on learning more about stars and planets, relative size of the planets and distance, make a rocket balloon rocket, and make a bible land map. Great week of learning and fun, unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
