Toddler Preschool: Letter Dd, #4, Yellow, Rectangle (Part 1)

TODDLER PRESCHOOL: LETTER Dd, #4, YELLOW, RECTANGLE (PART 1)

This week we will learn the letter Dd, number 4, the color yellow, and the rectangle shape.  We will also review the previous letters, numbers, colors, and shapes.

Some wonderful things we used for this weeks lesson.

Our friend left her sunglasses when she came to visit and little man found them.  As I was washing dishes he came into the kitchen and said "Cool Baby!", he is so silly and cute.

BOOKS

A few of the books we used this week

LETTER D

Looking through his Letter D book

Listening to the letter D with his Leap Frog Phonics

Observing the letter D flash cards

MATH

Working with pattern blocks, matching the shapes on the pictures.

Counted the eggs (6) even though the number for the week was 4.  Then he would open them, I would mix them, and he would put them together.  We discussed each shape and color.

ARTS & CRAFTS

Enjoying our monthly kids workshop at Home Depot, great way to tune their motor skills.  Best part of it is that they painted the trophy YELLOW are color of the week.

ACTIVITIES

It continues to rain and we decided to take the kids outside to enjoy some rain since it was lighting or thundering.  Little had lots of fun filling up the watering can and emptying it out.

I asked him to pick out a book so I could read to him, he picked out the book but instead sat in the laundry basket full of clean clothes to look through the book.  He is so silly, but at least he is comfortable and enjoying his favorite book "Good Morning, Good Night"illustrated by Melanie Mitchell.

Helping his sister clean the chalkboard and the mess he made on the floor with his milk.

Went to the library for story, game, and craft time.  This time around he was so into the stories.

Looked over to see Kanani reading her favorite book to Dartanian before bed, he loves it when she reads to him.

As I was finishing some school work with his sister he went to the Science center and started observing some rocks and gems.

Joining his sister in the wash station cleaning their animals.

Working on his motor skills (hand eye coordination): he would spill out the pipe cleaners and bells and then place them back in the bottle.

SNACK

Enjoying his favorite fruit a yellow banana.

VIDEOS

Watched a video on letters that a great friend of ours gave little man.

FIELD TRIP

We started off the week going to the Museum of Natural Science, needless to say he didn't want to take a picture with the T-Rex.  He wasn't scared he just didn't want to sit still for the picture, he had places to go no time for pics.

D is for Dinosaur, he really loves dinosaurs and was very excited to find one.

Observing everything around him and bugs

END OF THE WEEK

What better way to enjoy the week than with family observing birds.

Went to a friend's mom house to enjoy some time in the pool.  He loved playing the pool, it was hard to get him out.

Had lots of fun teaching little man the letter Dd, number 4, and the color yellow this week.  Introduced him the rectangle shape.  Next week we will continue the same lesson as this week, part 2.

GOD BLESS!
