MFW: 1850 to Modern Times Curriculum Organization
This year we are continuing with My Father's World and starting 7th Grade 1850 to Modern Times with K and redoing Exploring Countries and Cultures with D. I say redoing because he was so little when he first went through this curriculum with his sister, I believe he was 4 at the time. We have loved My Father's World from the beginning, started using this curriculum with K was in Kindergarten, and have also kept everything for when D would start school.
CURRICULUM
This is the one D will be using for 3rd grade.
K will be using this one for 7th grade.
These are the books we will continue to use this year, continuation from last school year.
Some of the items we will incorporate with our Science lessons.
Added this Paleontology Science Lesson to the kids curriculum from the Good and Beautiful Curriculum, mostly because they love dinosaurs and K wants to study to be a Paleontologist.
SCHOOL ROOM
Our school room is in the basement, we use half of the room for our school and the other half for a game room/man cave. Thankful we've been blessed with an area to have all of our supplies in one area.
PETS
Our school pets, more like the other 3 kids of our family, are: Larry Boy the Bearded Dragon, Coco the Cock-a-tiel, and the newest addition to our family are Eevee and Samantha the guinea pigs which we rescued from the Human Society.
Update on the guinea pigs, I found out they are actually boys and not girls like we were told when we rescued them. So the kids changed their names to Thor (used to be Samantha) and Loki (used to be Eevee). Perfect names for them.
CONCLUSION
Looking forward to another school year with the kids, we are excited to see what this new school will bring us. Lots of new information, experiments, activities, and enjoying our time together. Cherishing all these moments I have with them through this school year. Now unto next week to see what new adventures are in store for us.
