MFW: CTG (4th and 8th Grade) Week 28

This week we will discuss Jonah, Assyria, Hezekiah, Israel taken into captivity, Assyrian war, sunset of Mesopotamian, architecture, and basket weaving. Read about flight, how birds are designed for flying, and the parts of a bird.

LANGUAGE ARTS

Kids did a lot of reading, handwriting practice, spelling, poems, comprehension, Greek, and Spanish.

MATH

Worked on graphs, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, conversion units, word problems, skip counting, and patterns.

Learned more about birds, parts of a bird, how they are designed for flight, and the process of flying. Not pictured but we went and observed how birds fly and planes.

FIELD TRIPS

It was very nice outside so the kids rode their bikes a lot while I went for a walk with our puppy.

CONCLUSION

Learned about Jonah and Nineveh, King Ahaz, the fall of Israel, the Assyrians at War, the Assyrians at home, God comforts his people, and Jonah runs away from the Lord. Also read more about Jonah prays to the Lord, Jonah is angry that the Lord spares Nineveh, Jonah goes to Nineveh, the fall of Israel, the Assyrian Empire, the Samaritans, and Assyria's decline and fall. Learned more about birds, parts of a bird, how they are designed for flight, and the process of flying. Not pictured but we went and observed how birds fly and planes. Enjoyed the nice weather we got this week by the kids riding their bikes and I walking the puppy. Now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
