This week we will learn about Elijah and the still small voice, India-caste system, Elisha, Hinduism, Naboth's vineyard, Buddhism, Elijah is taken in a whirlwind, and India. Also read about the Indian Vedic Ages, the Hindu Religion, from water to the air, birds, and waterproofing feathers.

Kids worked on reading, spelling, paragraph writing, starting a research paper, comprehension, poetry, Spanish, and Greek.

MATH

Worked on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, skip counting, money counting, fractions, and word problems.

TIMELINE

HISTORY

Read about Elijah runs away to Mount Horeb, the Lord appears to Elijah, the Lord chooses Elisha, Naboth's vineyard, and Elijah is taken up to Heaven. Learned about India's caste system, conquerors of Northern India, Muslim invaders, Kingdoms of Southern India, Buddhist teachers, Mongol raiders, Sultans of Delhi, and the Chola Kingdom. Also read about Vijayanagar fights back, the ideas of India, from hymns to Hinduism, a class of their own, the beginning of Buddhism, the Mauryan Empire, the Buddhist emperor, painting and poetry, and the Indian Vedic Ages.

SCIENCE

Learned about water to air, feathers, birds, and waterproof feathers.

ART

Lesson 88: Painting a Stone

FIELD TRIPS

Took a trip to Poor House Farm, enjoyed our walk around the park with Kratos who really had a lot of fun, and got to explore the new park that was built.
