MFW: WHL (10th Grade) and Exploration to 1850 (6th Grade) Week 26

This week we will learn about World War I and II, Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Europe, life after the war, Africa, Asia, Americas, Oceania, Thomas Jefferson, the Haitian, the world of the factories, Lewis and Clark, and a new Republic in Haiti.  Also read about Thomas Jefferson, Louisiana Purchase, force a bulb, stems, phototropism, and all about branches.

Kids worked on reading, writing, spelling, state reports, speech, and Spanish.

Read about West Virginia, the Louisiana Purchase, Thomas Jefferson, Ohio, William Carey, slave rebellions, slaves at work, ending the slave trade, freedom in the Caribbean, slave ships, conflict over land in Kenya, political power, and the long march.  Also read about World War I and II, Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Hitler, oil pipeline, Charles Grandison Finney, steam power, factories and towns, new machines, mining coals, canals and trains, and the Great Depression.

SCIENCE

Learned about stems, auxins, cactus stems, phototropism, woody and herbaceous stems, and did a celery experiment.
