This week we studied LOVE for Valentine's Day.
SEARCH GAME
I hid some hearts and some of her My Little Ponies around the yard for her to look for them. Once she found everything she begged me to hid them again. It was awesome to see how excited she got each time she found something I hid.

I put together a couple of things: Heart foams, conversation candy, and different types of beads. Had her search and tell me what she found. She liked finding the candy and eating them.

I put a couple of things: Valentine cookie cutters and some utensils, into a plastic bin full of rainbow rice.
KEEPING BUSY
Let him play with some of the Valentine cookie cutters to keep him busy while K did some school work.
CANDY HEART
Experimenting with different liquids to see the reactions of the candy hearts.
Clorox: dissolved the color
Vinegar: expanded the hearts
Salt Water: words disappeared and color faded
Water: hearts stayed the same no reaction
MOSAIC HEART
K cut some pieces of red and white paper and then glued it on a pink heart. Great for her motor skills.
FLOWER STAMPING
Cut a celery and then gave it to K to dab in paint so she can make some flowers. Came out really pretty, she was proud with how her painting came out.
Enjoyed a Valentine Party at our church co-op, with some great snacks.
VALENTINE GAMES
I put together a game of Musical Hearts. Each heart has something written on it for whoever lands on it has to do it. Examples: Jump 5 times, turn in a circle, say hello to the person to your left, sing "Jesus Love Me", or do 5 push-ups. Those are just some examples I did 22 hearts. Played some music on my iPhone and every time I stopped it the kids did what was written on the hearts. This kept them very busy and they had a blast. Afterwards we played Mother may I and Jesus says-which is just like Simon says.
VALENTINE EXCHANGE
After we played games we exchanged Valentine cards.
ALL ABOUT ME
All the kids did shoe boxes or bags representing themselves.

Thanks to my wonderful friend for this awesome idea, the kids really enjoyed talking about their boxes or bag. It's a great public speaking practice.
FOOTPRINTS & THUMBPRINTS
I made some salt dough and made their footprints in a heart shape and then their thumbprints. Keepsakes that I will keep forever.
