Exodus 13:21-22

Memory Verse:  ..."I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have light of light."
John 8:12

We made a little lighthouse instead of the candle that was suggested in the teacher's manual.

Added the light to our names of Jesus board.

This week we worked on reviewing their spelling words and doing a lot more reading, handwriting practice, pronouns, nouns, adjectives, and memorization.

Math

Counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  This week there was a lot of review work which helped the kids remember what they've learned last year.  K has been using the calculator to double check her work and she gets so excited when her answers match the calculator's and answer book.

Timeline

Added Pilgrims 1620 to our timeline this week.

History

Read about the first settlers, different types of indians, Henry Hudson, going their separate ways, pilgrims, Native America Pictographs, made tepees and wigwag, Dutch settlement, strangers and saints in Plymouth, 13 colonies, Miles Standish, and played a game of Twig Toss.

Science

Read all about mammals, monkeys & apes, aquatic mammals, and watched a live video on Varsity Tutor about misunderstood monsters (animals).  Also read all about the sun and gravity and did several experiments to help us better understand the subject.
