History

Also read how the pioneers made cloth, and all about the state of Kentucky.
Found a recipe online for Chocolate Chip Scones which we really enjoyed.
Made some lavender and tea tree soap bars with our soap making kit from Wal-Mart.
Science
Read more about the weather focusing on the wind, non-vascular plants, moss, seen homes, angiosperms, gymnosperms, seedless vascular plants, and how to grow a herb garden (which we will do later on in the year since its been super hard to find the seeds during this season). Measured the kids using foam leaves, and learned all about pumpkins.
Art
There was no specific art projects this week, which worked out for us since we included week 13 of D's Thanksgiving week. Made a Thanksgiving picture while saying what we have been thankful in our lives.
D wrote a letter to his dad letting him know how much he loves and appreciates him. After taking this picture I traced his handwriting with black marker so his dad could see it better. He was very touched by this letter.
Music/Video
Listened to several different music while we did school this week.
Field trip
Went to Harpers Ferry with the family to see all the changing of the leaves and enjoy the outdoors, we ended up not staying too long since it got cold pretty fast and we weren't prepared for the change of weather.
Conclusion
This week we included in our studies week 13 of D's lesson: Thanksgiving, learned about King George III, Catherine the Great, the Stamp Act, George and Martha Washington, the End of the Seven Years War, Goethe, Voltaire, Catherine: Empress of the Russians, Benjamin West, Frederick the Miser and Louis the Waster, Marie Antoinette, and Lafayette. Read about non vascular plants, moss, seed homes, angiosperms, gymnosperms, seedless vascular plants, and all about the wind. Also learned about the Wilderness road, and Kentucky. Been a great week of learning, made chocolate chip scones for the first time, which came out amazing and made some homemade soap, love spending time with my parents, and enjoying our Thanksgiving activities. Now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
GOD BLESS!
