MFW: Exploration to 1850 and Adventures in U.S. History Week 12
This week we will learn about birds, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, liberty bell, and India. Also learn about Taj Mahal, the Indian Empire, World Sizer, King of the World, Conqueror of the World, Aurangzeb, Shopkeepers Invasion, Hindi, and Pachisi. We will discuss myriapods, mollusks, and cnidarians.
Books
Few of the books we used this week.
Bible
James 1:1-27
James 2:1-8
Genesis 8:6-19
Isaiah 40:28-31
Matthew 3:13-17
Language Arts
Lots of reading, writing, proof-reading, spelling, and learning parts of a paragraph and reports.
Math
A lot of conversion, multiplication, division, fractions, skip counting, and addition.
Timeline
Added Taj Mahal Built in India to her timeline.
History
Read about the Moghul Emperors of India, Aurangzeb, the Indian Empire, Shopkeepers' Invasion, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Taj Mahal, and India and the European Traders.
Made Johnny Cakes which came out pretty good.
Science
Read about the American Golden Finch, myriapods, mollusks, and cnidarians.
D has been wanting crickets for awhile so we did some research on how to take care of them. Got everything we needed to make sure they have the best possible home. He named them Bob and Tres, he is super happy and has been a good cricket dad.
Art
Lesson #202 Hogarth and Daumier & #203 Dreams and Visions.
Music/Video
Listened to The Best of Tchaikovsky: the Nutcracker
Listened to the Best of Mendelssohn: A Midsumer Night's Dream, Oveture, Wedding March, and Scherzo.
Field trip
Went to Hershey Park at the end of the week, we really need this break and had lots of fun together.
Conclusion
This week we learned about birds, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, liberty bell, and India. Also learned about Taj Mahal, the Indian Empire, World Sizer, King of the World, Conqueror of the World, Aurangzeb, Shopkeepers Invasion, Hindi, and Pachisi. We discussed myriapods, mollusks, and cnidarians. It has been a very busy week but we had lots of fun learning and spending time together. Now unto next week to see what adventures our in store for us.
