This week we will learn about New Zealand, California Gold Rush, the treaty of Waitangi, Captain Sutter, the year of revolutions, James K. Polk, Zachary Taylor, and a world of unrest.  Also read about New Zealand Wars, Texas, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, the greatest pioneer, building the railroad, building the Transcontinental Railroad, Colorado, and how the United States grows.  Learn about ferns, non-vascular plants, liverworts, painting landscape and people.

Did a lot of reading, writing, spelling, worked on the parts of a paragraph and how to start an essay.

Added California Gold Rush 1849 to her timeline.


D added Transcontinental Railroad 1869 to his timeline.

History 

Read about moving west by railroad, the greatest pioneer of all, New Zealand and her rulers, the New Zealand Wars, Texas, Colorado, Iowa, how the U.S.A. grows, Wisconsin, the California gold rush, building the railroad, Captain Sutter, the world of unrest, the year of the revolution, and end of track.











Science 

Read about Non-vascular plants, liverworts, lichen, moss, reproduction, uses for lichen, pollution monitors, and lots of activities with magnets.  







Art

Music/Video 

This week we listened to various classical songs.

Field trip 

Went to Washington D.C. to see the Cherry Blossoms Trees, something we did last year and this year the trees looked even better.
