TIMELINE

This week we got to add the Noah and Tower of Babel card on the timeline

WORKSHEET

Working on Noah worksheets

Learning about the ew sound and on her three sentence booklet

Tower of Babel worksheet

ea sound and the last part of the three sentence booklet

MATH

Number of the day

Found a card about how they used to tell time back then

Math worksheets on learning about hours

More worksheets on time

More time practice

Made a pizza clock using the kids "Pizza Party by Melissa and Doug", the worksheet said to make one but I really didn't want to waste food since I know no one would eat the fruit pizza.  So we improvised and used the raisins to make the numbers on the clock, and used small pieces of crayons for the hour and minute hands.

ARTS & CRAFTS

Talked about the colors of the rainbow and then the kids painted their masterpieces.

Art #2 "Henry Relham (Boy with a Squirrel) by John Singleton Copley

ACTIVITIES

Read over the Noah cards and also learned more about rainbows.

Also learned a little more about the people building the tower of Babel

She built the tower of Babel out of play-doh since she didn't want to use the toothpicks like the TM suggested.

Went around the house and searched for items that help us tell time

Found this really fun game "What animal am I? Card game", it was loads of fun.

Finally started using the "Peter and the Wolf" cd and activity cards

Building Noah's Ark puzzle we bought at Dollar Tree

SCIENCE

Discussed the colors of the rainbow and the order of the colors they are in.  Then we made our rainbow according to the order in the TM book.

Painted the colors of the rainbow on some aluminum foil and then covered it in shaving cream for the kids to discover which colors they could see.

This week at the co-op the theme was insects, Kanani made a lighting bug out of a bottle.  It came out so cute.

Making a rainbow using a glass of water, mirror, and a white paper. She actually was able to make a rainbow but it didn't come out in the picture.

Made boats out of aluminum foil then we placed dimes in them to see how much it could hold, they both held over 10 dimes.  Kanani then wanted to add animals in them like Noah's ark.  Hers held up a lot more than mine (6 and never sank), mine only held up three before it sank.

Discovered that when the light reflected on the tv it made a rainbow

POEM

A PROMISE
     By:  Author Unknown
(To the tune of "Did you ever see a Lassie?"

The rainbow is a promise
A promise, a promise
The rainbow is a promise
A promise from God
He'll never, no never
He'll never flood the earth
That's our promise from God

VIDEOS

Watched a cute video by the Veggie Tales "Noah's Ark" on trusting God

FIELD TRIP

Took a trip to the dentist for Kanani's 6 month check up and cleaning, she has no cavity and another loose tooth.  She was so excited that the ladies taped her picture on the wall.

Went to PetSmart to visit the animals and also get some supplies for Larry our Bearded Dragon.

END OF THE WEEK

Second practice before their first game on Saturday

She made her first goal in her first game of the season, she has worked so hard.  So proud of our little soccer player.  Best way to end the week.

My cute little helpers mopping the floor
