MFW: WHL (10th Grade) and Exploration to 1850 (6th Grade) Week 10

This week we will learn about Christianity, cults, religions, biblical Christianity, the rise of Islam, Alfred the great, the vikings, Asia, the world, Europe, Americas, Africa, Cyril, and Methodius.  Also learn about Georgia colony, Newton: Locke, farming, General James Oglethorpe, the universal laws of Newton and Locke, scientific farming, changes in farming, the age of ideas, invertebrates, arthropods, insects, and the circulatory system.

Kids worked on their reading, writing, spelling, homophones, nouns, pronouns, reports, and Spanish.


MATH

Worked on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction, decimals, algebra, 
and word problems.

Read about James Oglethorpe, the rise of Islam, the thirteen colonies, Georgia, wars for land, a mission land, salvaging the colony, Africa, the rise of Ghana, Christianity, Asia, Buddhism reaches Japan, Tang dynasty begins in China, the Arab empire, and Baghdad becomes capital.  Learned about the war, the ages of ideas, scientific farming, changes in farming, the world, Scotland is united, Europe, Alfred defeats the vikings, the Vikings, Basil II, Vladimir I, Otto, King Alfred, Cyril, King Wenceslaus, Olga, and Vladimir.  


SCIENCE

Learned about arthropods, insects, dragonflies, animal exoskeletons, invertebrates, and the circulatory system.
