MFW: ADVENTURES IN U.S. HISTORY WEEK 10

This week we get to experience the lunar eclipse and do several different activities for the eclipse.  We will also learn more water and do several experiments.

Making Hasty Pudding



Getting to taste their hasty pudding.



Brought out our quill and ink set for the kids to see how people used to write back then. 



Observing our copy of the Declaration of Independence.



Practice writing their names and shape using the quill and ink set.  They really enjoyed this activity.

We started the week being able to observe the Lunar Eclipse. 



Made a moon model to demonstrate how the moon rotates the earth and covers the sun.

Going over our Water Cycle poster that we got from Dollar Tree before we start our Science experiments.



Writing on the glass after her shower for her "Getting water back" experiment.

It was raining hard tonight with lots of lighting and thunder so the kids couldn't run in the rain like they like to do.  We stood on the porch to observe the rain for a little bit.

NATURE WALK

We went for a walk around the neighborhood, didn't take any pictures.  But we discussed the many thing we saw and how the leaves where changing colors.

VIDEOS



Watched the wonderful movie "The Nutcracker the untold story".

ACTIVITIES


Making galaxy slime to go with our eclipse theme.



Added some plastic glow in the dark stars to their slime.



Once they were done playing with their slime I placed in plastic containers so they could play with them later.



Painting their plates, black and yellow, for their eclipse craft.



Eclipse using two paper plates.



Going to the library is always fun, especially when you go hand and hand with your best friend.
