This week we will learn about crossing the Jordan, Akhenaton, Queen Nefertiti, Jericho being captured, Achan and Ai Tutankhamen, the sun and moon stand still, and Jericho's farewell.  The heretic pharaoh, end of an era, senet game, Egypt's last great king Egypt's decline, hypothesis, experiment, plants, and the first stage of germination.

Kids worked on reading, spelling, writing, Spanish, and Greek.

Did some addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, skip counting, money counting, fraction, and conversions.

SCIENCE

Learned about hypothesis and experiment, the beginning, and the first stage of germination.

FIELD TRIPS

Went to the library with our co-op group to decorate Christmas paper using stamps.

CONCLUSION

This week we read about the crossing of the Jordan, the fall of Jericho, the battle of Ai, the heretic pharaoh, marshy river, prophetic dream, end of an era, fall of the new kingdom, the underworld, gods and the afterlife, and graves.  Also read more on preparing the body for burial, natron crystals, death mask, the last ceremony, the coffin, Egypt's last great king, and Egypt's decline. Learned about hypothesis and experiment, the beginning, and the first stage of germination.   Had a busy week of learning, fun, and exploring, now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.

This week we will read about the twelve spies, Early North American cultures, water from the rock, bronze serpent, Moses dies and Joshua is the new leader, Chavin in Peru, and Rhab.  Also will read about the fruit in the promise land, Western Hemisphere before Early Mexican culture, the Olmecs, Peru, and the first North Americans.  Will learn more about water, water in the sea, seawater, saltwater, freshwater, and salt on ice.

We read about how Israel rejects Canaan, the Western Hemisphere, migrations to the Americas, the land bridge, arrival of the First Americans, hunters of the Arctic, desert tribes, hunters of the plains, woodland tribes, and the people of ancient Peru.  Also discussed gods and gold, cloth pictures, priests and pottery the Olmecs, gods and games, huge heads, and the end of the Olmecs.  Read more on the twelve men going into the promised land, Joshua becomes Israel's leader, Rehab helps the spies, and the men report on what they found in the promised land.

SCIENCE

Learned more about water, saltwater, freshwater, and did several experiments to better understand the differences between salt and freshwater.

Went to Home Depot Kids Workshop and the kids made a Horseshoe Game Board.
