This week we will work on several Valentine activities to celebrate Valentine's Day.
BOOKS
Some of the books we used this week
ARTS & CRAFTS
Placed a cardboard heart on a paper and Kanani painted around it with a cotton ball that was held with a clothes pin. Once the paint dried I removed the cardboard heart to show her the finished work.
Dartanian loves painting and this work was great for his motor skills.
Made a Valentine tree heart with their thumbprints, gotta say I love the way it came out.
Put some shaving cream in some oil pans and placed several dots of food coloring in the cream and swirled it around to get a marble effect. The kids then placed some paper on the shaving cream and wiped the excess off. Once dry cut the paper in heart shapes and taped them to the wall. Hearts came out so cute with the the marbled effect.
ACTIVITIES
Made some fizz hearts for the kids to play with. Mixed together baking soda with some drops of food coloring and water and placed in the freezer overnight. In the morning I dumped the hearts out in a bin and gave each one a bottle with vinegar in it.
Set the bin on the floor and the kids quickly started squirting vinegar on the hearts, it was fun watching the hearts fizz.
Filled a tub with colored pasta and placed several items representing Valentine's in it. The kids enjoyed searching for the items and playing with the pasta. Kept them pretty busy for awhile, I even gave them measuring cups and bowls for them to dump and fill.
BAKING
Made heart shaped brownies for the kids to enjoy this week. They were a big hit with everyone.
It has been a fun week of lots of activities.
GOD BLESS!
