ACTIVITIES

Since K is learning about Christopher Columbus this week we made the three ships he used for his adventure to sail across the Atlantic Ocean, of course D wanted to join in.  Gave them a blue construction paper and a white crayon for them to make waves on the paper to represent water.  He loved playing with the ships I made for him.

For Science we are learning about AIR this week, gave each of them some card board and had them fan themselves to see if they could feel and see air.

After they were done fanning themselves they used the card board to fan a piece of paper across the room then they tired blowing the paper using a straw.

Afterward we made a rocket balloon by tying some yarn to one stool and then placing the yarn through a straw before tying the other end to another stool.  Blew up a balloon without tying the end just pitching it so the air would come out and taped it to the straw.  We filled the balloon two different sizes and find out that the smaller balloon goes faster than the larger one.

Got this awesome idea from The Dad Lab facebook page.  Tied down a rubber glove using a rubber band to a plastic cup and made a hole on the side of the cup big enough for a straw to fit through.  Pushed the gloved down into the cup and the kids would blow through the straw to raise the glove up.  K would even suck the air back out of the glove to get it back into the cup.

Looking to see if the bottle had air in it by pushing it down into a tub of water.  They quickly noticed all the bubbles coming out of the bottle which goes to show that there is air in the bottle.

Working on his motor skills by trying to cut paper on the line.

Really enjoyed walking through the farm with our family.

This has been a fun week reviewing the letter Bb, the color blue, the number two, and the square shape.  We also learned about air, Christopher Columbus, and had many adventures with the family.  Now to see what next week has in store for us.

GOD BLESS!
