SCIENCE

After reading about the weather and how rain occurs and rainbows are made we made our own rain in a jar.

NATURE WALK

Went to Daniel Trees Farm and there the kids learned about how they grow the trees to prepare it for Christmas and got to explore the farm.

Went on a scavenger hunt around the farm.

Kids made their own Christmas wreath and then went on a hay ride around the farm.

VIDEOS

Watched several movies on the meaning of Christmas, mostly Veggie Tales ones.

ACTIVITIES

This week we put up the Christmas tree, very far in advance than most years.  They really wanted to put up the tree and start decorating the house for Christmas.  Of course I gave in and put up the tree with their help.  We left all our Thanksgiving decor till after Thanksgiving.  Once we put the tree and finished decorating we discussed the real meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate Christmas.

This week was a much shorter week than the other weeks before.  Mostly because this was suppose to be the week closer to Christmas but we are ahead of what the book says so we improvise.  We learned about Kentucky, how the Pioneers made cloth, experimented with weather and wind.  Learned more about rain and enjoyed our moment of decorating the Christmas tree.

GOD BLESS!!

Getting colder experiment

Placed the ince in the plastic bottle and then screwed on the lid.  Her and her brother shook the bottle and watched the ice cool the air inside.  Once the air cooled the bottle's side started going inward so no empty space was left inside.  It was a really neat experiment.

A Jumping Coin Experiment

They were excited to see how the warm water heated the air inside the bottle making the coin move upward.

Changing Size and Disappearing dent experiment, this experiment didn't work for us.  We tried it several times but no success.

NATURE WALK

Went to our local park for our Nature Walk, it was such a beautiful day.

We observed how nature was changing through the leaves.

Searched for different types of bugs and animals in the stream.

My little Nature Boy
