This week we will learn about U.S. expansion westward, factories, Sino-Japanese War in Korea, moving west,, the growth of the USA, philanthropists, outlaws, and the Korean battle ground.

Read about the Civil War, America the Beautiful, moving west, Native American names, the growth of U.S.A., buying land, war with Mexico, taking land, struggling to survive, a new world power, settling the west, building the railroads, train travel, railroads, cowboys and cattle drives wild west, homesteading, threatening a way of life, the Indians wars, conflict erupts into war, the homesteaders frontier.  Also read about pioneer breakfast, stocks, philanthropists, outlaws, the end of the open range, small countries with large invaders, and the Korean battleground.












SCIENCE

Learned about PhET Simulation balancing equations, pitch, sound quality, technology and sound, sonar, ultrasound, bioacoustics, sounds in space, hearing a fallen tree, light of the world, fire in the sky, hydrogen and helium explosion, electrifying light, radiant energy, sources of light, nuclear fusion, sources of light, incandescent light, and light emitting diode.  





ARTS

Finished Theater Arts: intro to unit 4, Computer Skills: Internet Safety Wrap-up, College Prep: Buying book bargains, Art: Lesson 252 Drawing a Cowboy and Lesson 253 Making Small Studies, in Craft class: Volcano diorama, and Music: Guitar and Drum. 








FIELD TRIPS

S.T.E.M. class the kids made marble maze, and in Taekwondo class the kids worked hard to test next week for their second green strip.
