MFW:  1850 to Modern Times and Mia Prep Week 17

This week we will learn more about light, the last emperor of China, the Wright brothers, Indochina, Persia, the  Vietnamese Restoration Society, and planning a composition.

BOOKS

BIBLE

LANGUAGE ARTS

Kids worked on reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, poetry, Walt Whitman, and Spanish.






MATH 

Worked on addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, ratios, decimals, exponential equations, and percentages.






HISTORY

Read about the last emperor, Oklahoma, the dawn of flight, the flying machine, missionary to Iran, the Vietnamese Restoration Society, American Art Persia, its enemies, and its friends.









SCIENCE

Learned about calculations with sig figs light, eye see, blue skies, primary colors, beams of monochromatic light, bouncing light, reflective light, angle of incidence, bending light, and refraction.





ARTS

Craft class: made scarecrows, Art: Lesson 221 Planning a Composition and Lesson 222 copying a Renoir, Theater: Directors and Stage Managers, and Computer Skills: Cyberbullying.






FIELD TRIPS

Went to the library for S.T.E.M. club and they worked on water wheels, then the kids went to their Taekwondo class.  


CONCLUSION

This week the kids worked on reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, poetry, and Spanish.  Worked on addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, ratios, decimals, and percentages.  Read about the last emperor, Oklahoma, the dawn of flight, the flying machine, missionary to Iran, the Vietnamese Restoration Society, Persia, its enemies, and its friends.  Learned about light, eye see, blue skies, primary colors, beams of monochromatic light, bouncing light, reflective light, angle of incidence, bending light, and refraction.  Craft class: made scarecrows, Art: Lesson 221 Planning a Composition and Lesson 222 copying a Renoir, Theater: Directors and Stage Managers, and Computer Skills: Cyber-bullying.  Went to the library for S.T.E.M. club and they worked on water wheels, then the kids went to their Taekwondo class.  Now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
