 MFW:  Exploration to 1850 and Adventures in U.S. History Week 25

This week we learned about Opium in China, Napoleon, Emperor Napoleon, the kingdom at the center of the world, Napoleon Buonaparte, Italy, Egypt, the Rosetta Stone, Mount Vernon, John Adams, Kentucky,  Tennessee, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, and the Gold Rush.  Also will read about atoms, molecules, more on roots, and taproots.

Language Arts 

Worked on spelling, handwriting, proof reading, finding the meaning to words, writing full sentences and paragraphs, and  a lot of reading.

Worked on addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, time, and ratios.







Timeline 

Added Napoleon Bonaparte and California Gold Rush to their timeline this week.



History 

Read about Opium in China, Napoleon, Emperor Napoleon, the kingdom at the center of the world, Napoleon Buonaparte, Italy, Egypt, the Rosetta Stone, Mount Vernon, John Adams, Kentucky,  Tennessee, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, and the Gold Rush. 













Science 

Studied more on roots, taproots, atoms, and molecules.

Field trip 

This week we went Hedgesville Fire Department for a field trip.









Conclusion 

Started our week with a trip to Hedgesville Fire Department for a field trip with a new homeschool group we joined.  We learned about Opium in China, Napoleon, Emperor Napoleon, the kingdom at the center of the world, Napoleon Buonaparte, Italy, Egypt, the Rosetta Stone, Mount Vernon, John Adams, Kentucky,  Tennessee, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, and the Gold Rush.  Also read about atoms, molecules, more on roots, and taproots.  Learned a lot this week and enjoyed our time together now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.

This week we will learn about Robert Fulton, Eli Whitney, steam and coal in Britain, cotton and guns in America, Lavoisier and oxygen, the steam engine, new machines, new factories, Doc. Jenner, daughters of the New Republic, and Noah Webster.  We will also discuss how Jesus is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, Samuel Morse, telegraph, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Vermont, and Rhode Island.  Learn some facts on roots, root systems, classification, human body, and do some drawings and paintings.  Definitely going to be a fun week of learning.

History 

Read about Robert Fulton, Eli Whitney, steam and coal in Britain, cotton and guns in America, Lavoisier and oxygen, the steam engine, new machines, new factories, Doc. Jenner, daughters of the New Republic, Noah Webster, and Rhode Island. 














Science 

Discussed roots, root hairs, root growth, geotropism, root systems, geophytes, rooting, made a leaf skeleton (attempted to), human body and the way we breath, and our sense of taste.

Went to Discovery Station in Hagerstown, MD, here are a few of the pictures of our trip.

Jenner, daughters of the New Republic, and Noah Webster.  We also discussed how Jesus is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, Samuel Morse, telegraph, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Vermont, and Rhode Island.  Learned some facts on roots, root systems, classification, human body, and do some drawings and paintings.  Finished the week with a trip to Discovery Station in Maryland, the kids had a lot of fun and the best part was their dad being there to enjoy the fun.  Now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.
