MFW: CtG and Gods Creation Week 29

MFW: Creation to the Greek and God's Creation from A to Z Week 29

This week we will be learning about Sennacherib and Hezekiah, Babylon, Josiah, and Jeremiah. Also learn about how Babylon conquered Assyria, land animals focusing on insects, and learning a new Greek word: BIOS (life). Little man will continue his studies on the Fruit of the Spirit, review letter recognition and the sound each one makes, reading, introduction to multiplication, skip counting, and recognition of his numbers with lots of handwriting practice.

Reviewing a few of her spelling words before her quiz and reading one of her books.

Lots of reading this week.

He has really enjoyed the Hook on Phonics program, I'm so happy to have something that has helped him enjoy reading.

MATH

Reviewing on identifying the hundredth and thousandth place.

Angel and fraction word problems.

Changing decimals to fractions.

Changing fractions to decimals.

Addition, writing the missing number, and circling what doesn't belong in each group.

Placing things into groups, adding, and dividing.

More writing in the missing number, counting, and identifying the numbers.

Introduction to multiplication, he loves making as many faces as he when I take his picture....lol.

TIMELINE

Added Israel taken captive by Assyria and Babylon conquers Assyria to our timeline.

Jerusalem survives a siege and King Josiah.

Lesson 92: Clothing a Baby

Lesson 98: Drawing Designs

Coloring in the Fruit of the Spirit worksheet as I discussed the meaning of each one.

After they completed their worksheets we cut out the circles and taped them to a string and taped it to the entrance of the school room.

SCIENCE

Lesson 76: Land Animals and People

Experiment 76: Trapping some creepers: instead of trapping them in a jar we looked under rocks around the yard to see what creatures were hiding.

Experiment 77: How many legs?: we observed how different each one was and how many legs some had compared to other.

We added more fun for the Fruit of Spirit. Kids added some fruits to their basket and would discuss what each one meant to them.

MUSIC

Watched several different videos on YouTube on the Fruit of the Spirit and we also listened to more "Handel".

FIELD TRIP

Surprised the kids with a trip to "Tads Dairy Barn" for some homemade ice cream, very good ice cream. We will definitely be returning for some more.

Always enjoy our family walks.

Today was a pretty warm day which meant we were outside for most of the day.

Love my little family.

The kids have really loved playing this game, not sure what it is called we call it the Noodle Game. We each hold a pool noodle, then when someone says Go we let go and try to get someone else's noodle before it falls down. Lots of laughing and fun during this game.

It's been a fun and exciting week and now unto next week to see what's in store for us.

MFW: CtG and Gods Creation Week 28

MFW: Creation to the Greek and God's Creation from A to Z Week 28

This week we will learn about the Fruit of the Sprite, Jonah, Israel taken into captivity, Assyria, and learn a new Greek word: TECHNE (art, skill). Also learn about the Assyrian War, Mesopotamian influence, the Assyrian Empire, how baskets were made and for what they were used for. Work on drawing different objects around the house and how much to reveal when drawing people. Little man will work on reviewing all his letter, numbers, colors, and shapes. Will continue on working on their Spanish lessons and getting them to speak more Spanish.

I didn't take many pictures but she has done a lot of reading, we did spelling test which she passed, and lots of handwriting practice.

He is finally starting to get sounding out words and his confidence has gone up a lot this week.

God made us SPECIAL and he loves us very much.

Reviewing all the letter sounds and reading more.

Lesson 90: Drawing Objects Around the House

Lesson 91: How much to Reveal

Took some time this week to paint on a small canvas to add some art to our wall. Love seeing the kids paint and letting their imagination flow through their art.

SCIENCE

Designed for flight Experiment, took 4 sheets of paper and would found 3 of them different ways to see which one would fall down faster. We noticed the one with the most folds fell faster than the rest.

MUSIC

Listened to "The Best of Handel".

Taking some time to have fun playing on Nintendo.

Enjoyed the beautiful weather to play with some super heroes outside.

Ordered some soccer goals for K to practice her soccer, she misses playing and being on team. She had the biggest smile when the package arrived.
