MFW: CTG (4th and 8th Grade) Week 18

This week we will learn about Gideon's call and test, Canaanites, Hitties, birth of Samson, Philistines, and Samson the prisoner. Also read more about the Hebrews, the people of Canaan, rise of small kingdoms, the raiders of the Mediterranean, plants, more on roots and germination, leaves, water and transpiration, and the importance of leaves.

Read about Gideon and the Midianites, Jephthah's daughter, Samson and the lion, Samson and the Philistines, the people of Canaan, the Hebrews, from Egypt to Canaan, the rule of Judges, Israel under Solomon, decline and fall of Israel, and Hebrew influence.

SCIENCE

Learned about roots, germination, leaves, water, transpiration, the importance of leaves, observed several leaves outside (not pictured), discussed the changing of the leaves, and the life cycle of plants.

FIELD TRIPS

We finished decorating for Christmas, all of our favorite time of year, remembering the birth of Jesus.

CONCLUSION

This week we read about Gideon and the Midianites, Jephthah's daughter, Samson and the lion, Samson and the Philistines, the people of Canaan, the Hebrews, from Egypt to Canaan, the rule of Judges, Israel under Solomon, decline and fall of Israel, and Hebrew influence. Learned about roots, germination, leaves, water, transpiration, the importance of leaves, observed several leaves outside (not pictured), discussed the changing of the leaves, and the life cycle of plants. Now unto next week to see what adventures are in store for us.

This week we will learn about crossing the Jordan, Akhenaton, Queen Nefertiti, Jericho being captured, Achan and Ai Tutankhamen, the sun and moon stand still, and Jericho's farewell. The heretic pharaoh, end of an era, senet game, Egypt's last great king Egypt's decline, hypothesis, experiment, plants, and the first stage of germination.

Went to the library with our co-op group to decorate Christmas paper using stamps.
