MFW:  RtR (5th Grade) and AHL (9th Grade) Week 8

This week we will learn about Jesus escapes to Egypt, death of Herod, Roman army, Jesus returns from Egypt, Jesus at the temple, and Germanic tribes.  Read about the passover, a boy of Nazareth, Pater Patriae, laws, everything begins with God, and understanding our world.  Also learned about our skin, overcoat, touch, hair and nails, hairy, scratchy skin, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, apoptosis, cell cycle, and cell division.

Read about the flight to Egypt, the carpenter's shop, the return to Nazareth, Jesus and the teachers, the Roman army, language, the Latin right, Roman law, Roman provincial government, the empire, Pater Patriae, Tiberius, on the German border, a boy of Nazareth, and the passover.  Also read about the law, ancient Rome, life at home, cities and palaces, life in Ancient Greece, the Assyrians at home, life at home, the first farmers, traders from Phoenicia, farmers of the Nile Valley, crafts, and trade.  Studied with it begins with God, mysterious Hyksos, the invention of writing, early migrations, German life, tribal organization, religion, and Roman gods.

Learned about our skin, overcoat, dead or alive, keeping cool, skin and sun, touch, sensitive spots, skin sensors, why do things hurt, fingerprints, skin deep, skin flakes, skin deep, epidermis, wrinkle, hairy, scratchy skin, hair and nails, hair, straight or curly, and hard as nails.  Also learned about photosynthesis, cell division, cell cycle, cellular respiration, and apoptosis.  












ARTS

Lesson 105: Penmanship

FIELD TRIP

Went to the library for their S.T.E.M. class, K volunteers at the library, and D gets to join her class and then move on to other activities.  This week they built a landing for their dinosaur to see if it would stay up before falling in the water.  D's stayed up the whole time, his dinosaur was safe. 




He learned how to tie his shoes while we waited for his class to start.  So proud and he learned very quickly.

CONCLUSION

This week we will learn about different laws, tabernacle, golden calf, trade and diplomacy, myths, building fit for gods, the great cult temples, religion in daily life, the pyramids of Giza, mortuary temples, and royal Barque.  Also read about John's birth, Pax Romana, Jesus' birth, shepherds, Simeon, Anna, the wise men, Caesar Augustus, life in the Roman Empire, Aristotle, Strabo, and the world.  Learn more our ear, hearing, receivers, tilt, and balance.

FIELD TRIP

K started her volunteer work at the library, can't believe how fast she is growing up, so proud of the young lady she is becoming.  




Stem Class at the library: building boats out of aluminum foil and seeing how many pennies or marbles it may hold before sinking.

Went to the park with D for him to take pictures while we waited for K to finish her theater class.




Something about railroads is so magical and mysterious.

Saw a rat snake while walking on the tracks.
