MFW: WHL (10th Grade) and Exploration to 1850 (6th Grade) Week 12

This week we will learn about the crusades, Thomas Aquinas, obeying God, obeying Man, the world, Africa, Asia, Europe, Americas, Oceania, and creatures of our God and King.  Also read about India, world Seizer, king of the world, conqueror of the world, Aurangzeb's three decisions, the shopkeepers' invasion, the British in India, Taj Mahal, myriapods, mollusks, and cnidarians.

Kids worked on reading, spelling, reports, comprehension, writing, and Spanish.

Worked on addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, and decimals.

HISTORY

Read about the Mogul Empire, the first emperor, Akbar the great, a cruel emperor, armies and traders, the crusades, India, conquest and plague, Africa, the world, obeying God, obeying men, and the Mali empire.  Also read about Europe, the battle of the Neva, Mamluks seize power in Egypt, King John, Magna Carta, the Hanseatic League, Aztecs, Viracocha, Cahokia, and British in India.

SCIENCE

Learned about myriapods, rainforest animals, mollusks, cnidarians, jellyfish, bioluminescence, life cycle of a jellyfish, the renal system, and teh reproductive system.

ART/MUSIC

Lesson #203: Dreams & Visions

FIELD TRIP


S.T.E.M. class


Build something only using straws and cups in order for the cup to be able to hold as many marbles it can before tipping over.  



Volunteered at church for fill in bags for the downtown outreach for LOVE week.


CONCLUSION

This week we read about the Mogul Empire, the first emperor, Akbar the great, a cruel emperor, armies and traders, the crusades, India, conquest and plague, Africa, the world, obeying God, obeying men, and the Mali empire.  Also read about Europe, the battle of the Neva, Mamluks seize power in Egypt, King John, Magna Carta, the Hanseatic League, Aztecs, Viracocha, Cahokia, and British in India. Learned about myriapods, rainforest animals, mollusks, cnidarians, jellyfish, bioluminescence, life cycle of a jellyfish, the renal system, and the reproductive system.  Busy week of learning and now looking forward to see what adventures are in store for us.

Read about Russia looks west, Peter's port to the west, changes in Russia, Ivan the Terrible, the time of troubles, Peter the great, the empire grows, struggle for sea power, using Christians, sultans, Persian rivals, and the empire weakens.  Also read about Anselm of Aosta, 1000-1200 the world, monks, invaders, western empire, Europe, Peter Waldo, Clare of Assisi, Americas, Leif Ericson, Chimu capital at Chan Chan, and the Anasazi cliff-dwellers.  Learned about the battle of Clontarf, Spanish kingdoms unite, church life, the battle of Hastings, English land survey takes place, Bernard of Clairvaux, middle ages, Germany, and France. 

SCIENCE

Learned about insect metamorphosis, arachnids, crustaceans, industrious ants, the immune system, vestigial organ, lymphocytes, the respiratory system, and the digestive system.

ART/MUSIC

Build a car out of Legos and see if it can hold together going down a ramp.



Tae Kwon Do Class, D didn't get to go this week due to him being sick, K got her first yellow strip.  She was super excited and we were so proud of her, she's worked really hard.
