MFW:  RtR (5th Grade) and AHL (9th Grade) Week 25

This week we will learn about Micah, Ancient Greece, Josiah, Nahum, Greek women and the home, Greek houses, clothes, fashion, farming, food, marketplace, and the Iliad.  Also read about black death, France and England at War, the Hundred Years War, Joan of Arc, the plague, nationalism and the Renaissance, a new way of living, towns, traders, European Society changes, the rise of Burgundy, and all about the earth.

LANGUAGE ARTS

Kids did lots of reading, spelling, writing, some research for their reports, learned new Greek words, and Spanish words.





MATH

Worked on fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra problems.




HISTORY

Learned about Gethsemane, Daniel, Jesus is sent to Pilate, Jesus is sentenced to death the way of the cross, the day Jesus dies, the women visit Jesus' tomb, doubting Thomas, all about Greece and the Greeks.  Also read about Greek living, homes, school, the black plague, guilds, the end of the world, and Joan of Arc.

Read about Symbiosis in fungi, diseases caused by fungi, evolution: classification using phylogenetics,  mutualism, parasitism, commensalism, Earth, distance, rotation, design and designer, mass, and atmosphere, tilt, land, equator, and who named Earth.

She has gotten into drawing a lot lately, so happy to see her progress with each drawing.

FIELD TRIP

Enjoyed our time at the library for their weekly S.T.E.M. class to make different items using roll up newspapers.


K has started learning how to drive in our church parking lot, for it to be her first time she did amazing.  Can't believe she is already learning how to drive, my has the time flown by.

CONCLUSION

This week we will learn about Genghis Khan, Mongolians, China, Ming Dynasty, Marco Polo, Russia, Ivan the Great and Terrible, and Japan.  Also read about Russia, the Golden Horde, Africa, Europe, America, Mission, becoming a christian, and living with purpose.
